Fire Causes Thousands In Damages To Mobile Home In Clear Spring

A mobile home in Maryland suffered extensive damage when an overnight fire broke out, officials announced on Monday, June 13.

In Washington County, first responders were dispatched to a Big Pool Road residence in Washington County shortly before 1 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, the Maryland State Fire Marshal said.

According to officials, 26 firefighters - mostly from the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company - responded to the scene and were able to quickly knock down the flames on the front porch of the residence after being alerted to the blaze by the homeowner.

The Fire Marshal said that the structure suffered approximately $2,000 in damage, which was limited to the exterior of the mobile home.

It is unclear what caused the fire, which remains under investigation. It is not believed to be suspicious in nature.
